AIMS AND SCOPE

 

The AIM of the scholarly periodical Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies is to develop and popularize research in the field of the history of the Ukrainian language and other Slavic languages, related areas of historical linguistics, as well as the philological processing and introduction of new written monuments into scholarly discourse. The publication is designed to foster a scientific space for discussing issues in linguistic medievalism and to facilitate the integration of Ukrainian scholarship into the international Slavic studies context.

SCOPE:

  1. Strengthening Ukrainian historical linguistics as a vital component of modern humanities.
  2. Integrating Ukrainian historical and linguistic studies into the international (Slavic) academic context.
  3. Reconstructing historical linguistic processes and deepening knowledge regarding the formation of the Slavic linguistic space.
  4. Highlighting issues and achievements in historical lexicography, etymology, and historical onomastics.
  5. Researching and introducing ancient and medieval written texts into scholarly discourse.
  6. Addressing theoretical and methodological issues in historical linguistics.
  7. Publishing scholarly reviews, critiques of new publications, and information on scientific events in the field of historical linguistics.
  8. Developing scientific cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign researchers.
