RETRACTION POLICY

The editorial board of the scholarly periodical Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies adheres to the principles of academic integrity and may decide to retract a publication in cases where significant violations of scientific ethics or serious errors in the article’s content are identified.

In accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Retraction Guidelines, which our journal follows, grounds for retraction may include established plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication in other journals without proper attribution, significant methodological or factual errors affecting the reliability of the research results, as well as copyright infringement or violations of academic ethics.

The retraction process can be initiated by the journal’s editorial board, the author(s) of the publication, reviewers, or other interested parties who have submitted a reasoned appeal to the editorial office. Upon receiving such information, the editorial board conducts a factual investigation, involving independent experts if necessary and requesting explanations from the author. The case is handled confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with generally accepted international standards of publishing ethics.

If the grounds for retraction are confirmed, the editorial board formally retracts the article and publishes a retraction notice specifying the reasons for the decision. In the electronic version of the journal, the retracted article is marked as “Retracted” but remains accessible to readers with a corresponding note to ensure the transparency of the scientific process. The editorial board reserves the right to inform the authors’ academic institutions or other interested parties in cases of serious violations of academic integrity.

For the retraction procedure, we utilize the EASE Standard Retraction Form.
