GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
The activities of the scholarly journal Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies are based on high standards of research quality and unwavering adherence to ethical norms. The journal’s editorial policy is governed by the Law of Ukraine On Academic Integrity, Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine On Education, the provisions of the Ethical Code of a Scientist of Ukraine, and the Law of Ukraine On Copyright and Related Rights, as well as the relevant guidelines provided by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
The Editorial Board requires authors to strictly adhere to the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and personal responsibility for their scholarly achievements. This includes respect for the academic work and intellectual property rights of others, which ensures a high level of scientific publication, prevents conflicts of interest, and guarantees respect and a tolerant attitude toward other members of the academic community.
The Editorial Board encourages authors not only to maintain a high scientific level in the preparation of their articles but also to clearly identify and distinguish the results of their own scholarly activities from those of others.
CRITERIA FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ACADEMIC INTEGRITY PRINCIPLES
The Editorial Board warns against plagiarism in all its forms. To ensure compliance with the principles of academic integrity, materials submitted by an author or a team of authors for publication in Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies must meet the following criteria:
The Editorial Board does not consider “honest error” or differences in scientific opinion as a violation of integrity.
VERIFICATION PROCEDURE AND LIABILITY FOR VIOLATIONS
The Editorial Board reserves the right to screen submitted materials for plagiarism using specialized services. Authors bear personal responsibility for acts of academic plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other violations as established by the Law of Ukraine On Academic Integrity.
If violations are identified during the editorial process, the Editorial Board will reject the manuscript and notify the author’s or reviewer’s institution (primary affiliation) regarding the breach of academic integrity.
In the event of ethical violations by reviewers or editors, the Editorial Board shall revoke their right to participate in the activities of the journal’s editorial board.

The Editorial Board of the journal implements a transparent procedure for handling complaints and appeals. Any individual may submit a reasoned complaint regarding breaches of academic integrity or ethical standards via the journal’s official email address.
