The article is devoted to the etymological analysis of seven lexemes of the Old Ukrainian language: намєтєцъ, гибѣю(т), чиньба, опослѣ, зидатель, озимя, остенъ. For the etymological procedure, the author uses the available cognates of Slavonic languages. Potential Proto-Slavonic archetypes *nametьcь, *činьba, *ob poslě, *zidatelь, *obzimę, –ęte are reconstructed. The dictionary entries *gyběti, *ostьnъ, reconstructed in the Etymological Dictionary of Slavic Languages, are supplemented. The dictionary entries under the slogans *gyběti, *ostьnъ, reconstructed in the Etymological Dictionary of Slavonic Languages, are supplemented.
