The editorial board of the journal Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies<\/em> maintains an uncompromising policy regarding the prevention of academic plagiarism<\/a>. In accordance with Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine \u201cOn Education<\/a>,\u201d plagiarism is defined as the publication (in whole or in part) of scientific (creative) results obtained by other persons as the results of one’s own research (creativity) and\/or the reproduction of published texts (published works of art) by other authors without attribution.<\/p>\n

  1. Author Obligations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    • Authors submitting materials for publication in “Ukrainian Linguistic Medieval Studies” agree that they have personally written the article, have not published it elsewhere previously, and have prepared it specifically for this journal.<\/li>\n
    • Authors bear full personal responsibility for the accuracy of the presented facts and the correctness of any citations or borrowings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n
      1. Forms of Academic Plagiarism<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Presenting plagiarized content as original work or submitting a previously published article is unacceptable. In cases where such facts are identified, the authors of the submitted materials bear full responsibility.<\/p>\n

        The Editorial Board considers the following forms of violations inadmissible:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Verbatim copying: <\/strong>Using (quoting word-for-word) any materials in any volume without citing the source.<\/li>\n
        • Paraphrasing: <\/strong>Restating others\u2019 ideas or results without mentioning the original source.<\/li>\n
        • Self-plagiarism (duplicate publication): <\/strong>Submitting a previously published article as a new scientific work.<\/li>\n
        • Unauthorized use of visuals:<\/strong> Using borrowed images, drawings, photographs, tables, charts, diagrams, or any other forms of graphical representation without referencing the source.<\/li>\n
        • Copyright infringement:<\/strong> Using materials without written permission from authors or copyright holders who prohibit the use of their work without specific coordination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          1. Improper Citations and Technical Errors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Cases of improper citation formatting are reviewed by the Editorial Board individually. These include:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • Lack of quotation marks:<\/strong> Failure to use graphical indicators (quotation marks) despite providing a source reference.<\/li>\n
            • Incorrect referencing:<\/strong> Providing inaccurate or incomplete bibliographic descriptions that prevent the identification of the source.<\/li>\n
            • Secondary sourcing:<\/strong> Citing secondary sources without referencing the original.<\/li>\n
            • Excessive quoting:<\/strong> Using an amount of quoted material that is not justified by the scientific goals of the article (even if sources are cited).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              1. Verification Procedure<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                The Editorial Board conducts a mandatory check of all manuscripts for textual borrowings using specialized software, StrikePlagiarism.<\/p>\n

                Since plagiarism constitutes the theft of intellectual property, the Editorial Board immediately rejects original manuscripts that contain significant textual borrowings from other works (articles, monographs, etc.) without proper attribution.<\/p>\n

                In the event that plagiarism is confirmed in an already published article, the Editorial Board reserves the right to ban the authors from publishing their works in all future issues of the journal and retract the text from the archive on the official website and other platforms managed by the Editorial Board.<\/p>\n

                Based on the results of the check, the author will receive a report or a request to address specific concerns. The final decision to accept an article for peer review is made by the editor based on the verification results.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
