The article is devoted to the historical-linguistic study of one-word oikonyms, which are motivated by the lexeme gorod<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>\/ gorod\u043e<\/em>k<\/em>, and names with the second component –gorod. <\/em>Such names are recorded in various regions of historical Podillia \u2014 within the boundaries of modern Vinnytsia, Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions: Bilogorodka<\/em>, Vernyhorodok<\/em>, Horodok<\/em>, Dzvenigorod<\/em> and Zvenigorod<\/em>, Kitaygorod<\/em>, Komargorod<\/em>, Kopaigorod<\/em>, Raigorod<\/em>, Strazhgorod<\/em>, Shargorod.<\/em> The article deals with the structural-semantic and etymological characteristics of the creative bases of the respective oikonyms. The author provides a chronological attribution of the appearance of these settlements.<\/p>\n
